The information available on this website is free to use and no responsibility will be taken for any inaccuracy.  This website does not provide advice and we strongly recommend all users seek their own professional advice and complete any due diligence prior to making any legal, financial or investment decision.

Premium Membership - additional terms of use 

Premium members agree not to purchase any valuation (AVM) report from RP Data.  There is an additional cost for each AVM report and the member is responsible for all costs incurred. 

RP Data access is shared between Premium members and a "fair go" policy requiring members to log out when not in use and extended use in one session is prohibited.  Session time is limited to 2 hours per session.  There is no limit to how many times a user can log in each day.  Evenings and weekends may have a higher usage and are considered peak periods, please be courteous to other members and reduce the time of your session during peak periods.

Premium Members are not permitted to share their log in to the Property Investor Network website or their log in and password details for the RP Data website.  RP Data access is limited to property investors only and no commerical use is permitted.  The privacy policy of the website must be agreed to on your first log in and you are bound to ensure you abide by the privacy rules.

Any premium member that breaks the RP Data privacy rules or uses the information from the RP Data website for commerical use will have their RP Data log in cancelled with no refund available.

Minimum Premium Membership period is 12 months.  Membership fees can be paid monthly, quarterly or annually.

Welcome to the Property Investor Network Forum

Please note that while this forum is hosted by Property Investor Network, the views expressed herein are not necessarily those of the Property Investor Network.  The forum is open to all those with an interest in property investment, but users should respect the views of others and refrain from any anonymous, rude, libellous or unfair comment.
 

About this Forum

The role of this forum is to provide a way that property investors can learn about property investment from fellow investors. To this end the forum is a place for investors to:

  • Discuss property investment issues in general
  • Share reviews and recommendations on a wide variety of investment resources and services (everything from events, books, software, websites, sources of finance, property-accountants, etc).
  • Help each other evaluate property investment opportunities
  • Keep abreast of important education events (courses, seminars, workshops, etc)
  • Keep up to date on the latest innovative investment techniques
  • Make friends, keep in touch, motivate, support and mentor each other

 

This Property Investor Forum is an extension of the Property Investor Network which has existed since 2003.  To assist Property Investors learn more and make contact with other property investors. There is a large community of property investors in Australia and others living overseas who want to learn more. 

We do not support unfair, unethical, unsupported, libellous or crude comments, no matter who makes them. We reserve the right to delete any posts we consider to be distasteful, disrespectful, degrading or in any way outside the spirit of the forum.

Terms of Use

We hope that you will enjoy the information and services available in the Property Investor Network Forum and in turn help to make it an even more valuable resource for other property investors. Registration is free but for the enjoyment and protection of all Forum members, we do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below.  Access to the site is a privilege, not a right, and your continued access is conditional upon your acceptance and compliance with the rules and policies, so read them carefully.
 

The Property Investor Network Forum is largely a self-policing discussion site with a focus on property investment.  Our honorary site administrators and moderators can and will take appropriate action (at their sole discretion) with respect to violation of our terms of use, including but not limited to the removal of post(s) and the termination of membership.  In all likelihood, if you're honest, sincere and civil with your posts, you will never have to worry about the Forum administrators or moderators.  In fact, they are really great people who perform an invaluable service in maintaining some sense of order in the Forum for the benefit of all members.
While the administrators and moderators will do their best to keep objectionable material off this forum, it is impossible for them to review every message before they are posted.  Hence all messages express the view of the author and neither the owners of the site (Property Investor Network), the web hosting company, the forum administrators, nor the forum moderators will be held responsible for the content, accuracy or reliability of any message, and make no warranties, express or implied, as to the content of messages or any other materials in the Forum. 

By registering, you are agreeing to be bound by all the terms and conditions outlined below.  If you find any of these rules unacceptable, or any future changes to these rules unacceptable, your only remedy is to cease using the Forum. 

You subject yourself to possible suspension and/or termination from the Forum if you do any of the following:

  • Provide untrue or incorrect information about yourself during the Forum registration.
  • Use the Forum for the publication of any material that is unlawful, harassing, libellous, invasive of another's privacy, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene, improper or otherwise objectionable. Instead, be civil in your posts and be respectful of others views, irrespective of how stupid you might consider them to be.

 

Forum Policy

1. The Golden Rule: Respect: While the Property Investor Network supports open discussion and debate, we are committed to keeping things friendly, supportive and constructive. Please treat your fellow community members with courtesy and respect.

Public disputes: Property Investor Network is not the appropriate channel for disputes or arguments between individuals or companies. Any gripes should be taken up directly with the individual or company concerned.

2. Introduce yourself thoughtfully: To distance yourself from ‘one post wonders’ avoid over-promoting your offering in your introductory message. A short overview of your business is fine, but the community will not tolerate new users registering purely to advertise. Remember, first impressions count!

3. Don’t start threads or posts for the purposes of advertising or promoting: Any commercial or promotional links to your own, or third party, websites (including job advertisements, those promoting events, selling or giving away products or services, etc.) should be directly relevant to an ongoing discussion in all instances. This includes re-posts of articles and blogs that appear elsewhere and that are clearly posted here purely to drive traffic. Any affiliate links not accompanied by a disclosure statement clearly outlining the nature of your affiliation will be removed.

4. Adding value: Please ensure that posts add value to discussions and/or continue ongoing conversations. Seemingly empty posts such as ‘I agree’ or ‘Good point’ etc that we deem are purely posted for promotional purposes will be deleted and repeated posts treated as spam. This is not at all aimed at genuine conversations or common courtesies. We want to promote to our community the friendliness and generosity of those who participate, and we do not intend these guidelines to interfere with that. If you think we've been over-zealous in our moderation, please feel free to let us know.

5. Signature guidelines: Please keep signatures short (4 lines maximum), simple and professional – adding a tagline and linking to your business website is fine in your signature, but no more than 3 links and no images.

6. Keep personal information personal: Be mindful that your post will not only appear on our forum, it may appear on external search engines. Avoid posting information such as home addresses and phone numbers, instead share these via private message or by linking to your website.

7. Keep it nice: No publication of any material that is unlawful, harassing, libellous, invasive of another's privacy, abusive, threatening, vulgar, obscene, porn, links to pirated software, illegal activities or just general nasty stuff – there’s enough of that in the web already! Insulting, defamatory, prejudicial or offensive posts and posters will be deleted.

You may not use the forum in any way that may infringe the intellectual property rights or copyright without the explicit permission of the copyright owner.

Self-promotion should be by way of deeds not ads. Members should make their own assessment of what industry professionals have to offer based on the utility of their contributions to the forum, not the size of their signatures. Blatant soliciting for investment funds or investment partners through the forum will not be tolerated. This is not a commercial for your services/products.

You may not use the Forum for the publication of spam, explicit commercial advertising, or of material intended to solicit a person to buy or sell services, to invest in a specific enterprise, or to make donations. However, there may not always be a clear line between sharing information on investment opportunities and using the forum as a place to simply market products and services. If you think that your post might be interpreted as spam, don't post it.

8. Spreading the word: We may occasionally share the wisdom of the Property Investor Network with a wider audience. This may mean an extract of your post is mentioned in a newsletter, on the website or within an article or media release. Where relevant, original posters will be identified by their member name and a link to the full post on the forum. If, at some time in the future you wish to no longer be identified with our community, we can delete your profile information and signature to remove identifying characteristics.

9. Management of posts: Once submitted, we generally do not delete legitimate posts. We may close posts that have run their course, move threads to more relevant areas or edit posts not complying with the guidelines. Additionally, we may amend the titles of threads or posts to assist clarity or general visibility.

10. Posting tips:

  • To maximise the chances of people finding your post, please use subject titles that are clear and easy to understand. The more descriptive, the better.
  • If you’re asking a question, be sure to provide enough background and detail for a meaningful answer.
  • If your thread starts to head off-topic, consider starting a thread on that new topic.
  • Place messages in just one forum section – don’t cross-post or duplicate them to multiple discussions.
  • Use the preview feature to check spelling and formatting.
  • Format long posts using paragraphs, numbers and bullets if needed.
  • Search the forums before adding a new thread to see if your topic is already covered or under discussion. The ‘search’ facility is in the right hand margin of every page.
  • It’s best to avoid discussion on politics, religion, legal advice and medical advice as these often lead to unproductive discussions and are likely to be deleted.

12. Upon posting messages to the Forum, you must agree to that material becoming the property of the Property Investor Network (a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty free, perpetual, non-revocable license under your copyrights or other intellectual property rights) to ensure that the material will continue to be displayed on the Forum. You must also agree to the Property Investor Network authorising the downloading and printing of such material by end users for their personal use.  As this is a public Forum with respect to read access, messages posted to it should be considered publications in the public arena.

13. The Property Investor Network reserves the right to update or change the terms of use and forum rules at any or if required by law.
